As the indoor season gets underway, several WAFEL athletes are set to compete this weekend. On Saturday we will see Thomas Van der Plaetsen in the high jump at the LBFA Championships (out of competition). On Sunday he will be back in action at the Flemish Championships in the men’s long jump and 60m hurdles. The multi-event standout will be looking to shape up for his first heptathlon of the season scheduled for February 8-9.
Belgian Jan Van Den Broeck is hungry for the A standard for the IAAF World Indoor Championships which is set at 1.47.00 and will be looking for a fast time in the men’s 800m.
Also on Sunday, Cedric Nolf – who recently decided to focus on the long jump – will be looking to improve on his PB mark of 7m61 which he set three weeks ago.
