Several WAFEL athletes showed fine form over the weekend at their respective National Championships.

In Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, 110m hurdler Mikel Thomas officially claimed his ticket for the Olympic Games by taking the win at the national championships. The 2015 Pan American Silver medalist posted a solid 13.67 clocking.

In Belgium, heptathlete Nafi Thiam improved her personal best in the javelin with a 52.62m throw to place 3rd overall and showed good form in the 100m hurdles on Sunday.


Decathlete Thomas Van der Plaetsen produced a good 14.57 clocking in the 110m hurdles but had an off-day on Sunday in the men’s high jump.
