At the meeting de Mondeville in France, Belgian multi-eventer Thomas Van der Plaetsen was rewarded with personal best marks in both the 60m hurdles and pole vault.

Van der Plaetsen having last week jumped to 7m74 in the long jump, this week improved on his 60m hurdles PB with 0.04 (8.06) and had a promising pole vault competition clearing 5m05, 5m20 and 5m34 on his 1st attempt, missing 5m48 just narrowly.

Next up for the World University Champion is next weekend’s Tallinn Indoor Heptathlon where he will try to qualify for the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics scheduled for March 7-9 in the Polish town of Sopot. Also on the start list for Tallinn is double world champion in the decathlon Trey Hardee.
